I have always thought of Lamingtons as Australian. Is this not so? |

I guess at the end of the day, an awful lot of kiwis and australians are from scottish stock, so it kind of evens itself out. |

You forgot about the cream that goes in between the sponge..and then covered in chocolate and coconut...most important part!
Those Aussies are always nicking our stuff. Like Russell Crowe, Pavlova, sam Neil ,lamingtons etc....we invent these people and things first and they always take the credit...they can have rolf harris and dame edna...they arent ours!!!! (constant arguing about who invented what first...all a bit of fun)
I think the main reason we returned home was because of the ice cream and the 50 flavours cadbury does (not just milk, fruit and nut and almond...oh no) I know some say it isnt as nice as UK cadbury...but I have forgotten as I eat a whole block of black forest or caramello....you wait till you lot get here and try that...you will think you have died!

No no no -
I am not sure about this outfit yet - but got a kind letter from Keith last week and a follow up from one of his "assistants" with 3 PDF files clearly outlining all their "fees" -
For starters, their fees are *NOT* $7,000 US - In fact it's $6,000 NZ!!! (Actually it's NZ $5,997 to be exact!!) AND whoever is doing your banking at the 2 for 1 exchange rate for ya, tell me - cuz I want them to be my banker!!!! LOL!!!!
Point is, US Dollars as of this a.m. - the exchange rate is 3,919.17 US... or 1 NZD = 0.653521 USD ----
So, for 3 months of "job searching" in order to get you into the Country... and whereas most American "headhunters" here in the USA charge $5-15K to write an executive resume (err CV) and job hunt for you... So, in my view, if they can indeed deliver the goods - then I would think it's money well spent - And if not, they claim to be backed by the NZ gov't somehow and refund you after 12 weeks... So what do you have to lose?
Just depends on how "marketable" you are I suppose...?
Again, I'm not saying this is THE answer - but since they have ties into Mcmanus (or whatever the name of their parent recruiter is?) - I am certain someones palms are getting greased - and it's simply a case of "who you (they) know" and not what you know... I dunno? -
Just my 2 cents... and worth what it cost ya - Nothing... Good luck.

Hiya
is that NZD$6000 the sum of it all, or are there any other fees. i.e. does it include the initial fee they charge for the CV/resume? Also I heard they charge a rate of your first year's salary?
I did some trawling on the web and there is a fair amount on them in their other interests - seem legit enough ????
cheers

Like I said..it was last year when he had just launched his website...it was hot, so I think it was about march time....(ask keith when he launched this part of the business..it was then) and the rate was 49 cents to our $1
AND YES it was $7000 US back then...cos he said it to my face, but like I said, who knows what he is charging now (maybe didnt get to many takers with the 7k.)
I am sure he is very good, and now at half the price, he is exceptional.
Tell us how you get on with getting a job via him.

Hi Hogar
Based in Christchurch I was not too impressed with their service.
After my initial email correspondence with them , I was never asked to see them nor a follow up on my request for a meeting.
All I get occasionally is their newsletter .
I am sure that there will be others who have gone further with them, but this was my experience.
cheers

i doubt very much that the nz govt back any agency who deal in helping companys that profess to help people find work. this is just a ploy. if in doubt about suspicious claims just check em out with the nzis via a quick e-mail , best to be safe than sure before parting with cash. |
