An interesting thought on this thread while looking at another.
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/nzis/operations_manual/6360.htm:
"Skilled employment only qualifies for points if the employment is:.......
...........
5 the employment was not offered as a result of payment made (either within or outside New Zealand) by the applicant (or their agent) to the employer (or their agent) in exchange for securing that offer of employment."
This would imply that employment gained as a result of paying NewJobZ could NOT be used to gain points for residency.
Intersting...
Cheers,
Mark. |

Hi Mark - very interesting point. I believe, however, that anyone who was offered a job as a result of using Newjobz (or a similar company's services) would not be penalised by the NZIS.
If you paid an employer for a job, you would cease to be eligible for SMC.
If you paid an employer's agent for a job, you would cease to be eligible for SMC.
You are, however, paying Newjobz and they are neither of the above. They are acting on your behalf rather than the employer's behalf. The principle is that the employer receives no financial inducement for the job offer. This is not legal opinion, just personal opinion. |
