Hi all

I have had my concerns about the policy, however have spoken to day to senior NZIS source.

Advice is the forecast few hundred decisions completed by June are only the ones who will have completed the whole process - EOI, picked from pool, verification, medical etc and then invited to apply, application completed and approved, the whole shooting match. This implies a 3 month process is in place.

They are still going to be picking 400 per dip by end of March. This means that about 500 or so current applications will lapse, virtually all will be offshore lodgement, no job offer, but talented.

On this basis the pick point will drop, if there are no new arrivals in the pool, the mark will be down to 120 end of April. Assuming that a similar number keep lodging, the mark will be down to about 150 by same time.

I expect it would then drift down to 120 or so by July. In future, it is intended that if points dip fairly low, the remainder would be scanned to pick good candidates who would then be invited to apply.

So it's not panic stations yet, the pool pick document on website is only dealing with those who have a fully finished process with residence in hand, not the number who are just being invited.

(relief!)

Keep in there.

Thanks Jamie - that's good to hear. Three-month process to go from Invitation to residence seems pretty reasonable.

Cheers,

there had been a fair amount of speculation on the forum that the points tally would settle down at a fairly low number which kept my hopes up while all the high numbers were coming out. thanks for confirming that jamie. Nice One
