Just read through our e-ticket for flights to NZ and it says "visa required" on the bottom - but how can that be if our return date is within 6 months of arrival in NZ? Am I missing something...

Plus, having read the posting re the poor guy who got hauled over the coals for 5 hrs at immigration Hmmm should we take any EOI receipts etc with us - I felt that this would confuse the immigration guys as we are on a visitors visa.. what to do? Keep schtum and say nothing except we are on a holiday or mention that we may be accepted via EOI whilst in the country?

Most e-tickets require proof of identity when showing up at the check in,
99% of times they use the visa card you booked with.
Its quite possible thats what it means ... or ....

Its a standard print on the bottom and they don't check to see if the travellers allowed greater than X number of weeks

Thanks Az - rang the travel agent and the girl on the phone hadn't a CLUE about Visas!!

I was just worried that something had changed and that now visa's were required for 6 months or less!

Maybe you want to call NZ embassy and ask about the situation, and if happens you need visa just go to the embassy and obtain one...no?

Just double checked on Nzis site in case they have changed things without telling us.

See for yourself Moorf. No visa required.

Hi Moorf,

I asked the same question in May when we went over, you certainly do not need a visa if travelling from the UK. I think the e-ticket is a standard form so has to satisfy everyone.

Moorf

When Dan came over in May to get a job he had an e-ticket, but didn't have a visa he didn't have any trouble.

He just had to fill in a form on the plane (everyone gets them).

You shouldn't have any problem

Tara
