I guess I really need to talk to someone at NZ House in LOndon, but maybe you guys could shed some light :)
I'm planning on coming to NZ in October, hopefully to live & work for at least 6 months. I aim to generate my income by p[laying music - which is what I do here in the UK - in bars & pubs in & around the Wellington area.
I already have a couple of such gigs booked, and thought they may help with regards to having an "employer" to put on the application form. The problem is that I won't always be working for that "employer" - my work will involve me playing in many different places - I suppose I'd be more self-employed and these would be my clients rather than the other way around.
There doesn't appear to be any provision for this on the application form - unless i apply as a self -employed person ( but wouldn't this be in the category of starting my own business?)
My - it's confusing aint it?

Dave.

If you are under 30 yrs.old you would probably be best off getting a working holiday visa. Not sure how this works with regard to "self"
employment though. Good luck
