Hi All! 
It's official...latest draw is 165...our magic number!!  Woo hoo! 
We were already headed in on a Work Visa...leaving May 30...but this is some great news for 1,304 other lucky people! (530 EOI's this round.)

Hi all
The lastest pick was big enough to take out 200 more people than have applied since last time. 
A bunch of the new entrants since last pick were on 165, local lodgement with offers.
If people hold off lodging until their own point mark gets close, ie within next pick or two, this will really make the system float on week by week basis and will not easily give a true long term picture of the points mark's ultimate settling point for some time (lapsing old cases not withstanding).
More uncertainty. 
It may act as deterrent to people who are planning to visit NZ and try to get a job offer first, if they have no real idea where the mark may be in three month's time.
Expect more people to go for work permits and apply for EOI after arrival.
And that drives us back to the chicken and egg, getting employers to offer jobs to migrants. 
Until NZIS get that part of the quation fixed, the SMC system will be a real underachever as it will be dependent on work permits as prior step, and SMC will not deliver enough migrants to NZ.
