Hello all,

Just a quick update. My EOI was selected in the 28/4/04 draw and I have just had an e-mail from the NZIS London office saying that my Invitation to Apply is in the mail Smile

I was a little puzzled, as I'm based in NZ, but the e-mail and accompanying letter said that, as there are so many applicants ready to lodge onshore in NZ, they are farming some of the applications out to other branches. So it's possible that some of you guys will be going through London as well.

It does mean that they seem to be processing things much more quickly than the 6-8 weeks quoted in the EOI selection confirmation.

Good luck to all, and I'll keep you posted of any developments.

Cheers,

Evelynne

Hi Evelynn

Congratulations being picked! My situation was a bit like yours. I was selected from the pool and invited to apply whilst I was in UK from London. I then flew to NZ just a day after I was asked to provide my documentation to the London office. Once in NZ, my application was still being processed in London (I was told it was easier to do in London for some reason) I was in contact with my Visa Officer via email and she kept me updated on progress. Then last week, I was approved for PR and my file was sent to Christchurch office where I had to go in person to have my passport endorsed. I now have residency and it was a very straightforward, efficient process. I thought it might be complicated with me being in NZ and all my docs and application in London, but no. My qualifications, birth certs etc were safely delivered back to me very quickly too. The whole process took about 3 1/2 months from being selected from pool.

Hope all goes well for you.

Susan

Hi Susan,

Congratulations on your residency :o) Good to hear that you had such a smooth process after selection despite being in a different location to your visa officer.

I'm hoping mine goes as smoothly.

Cheers,

Evelynne

Hi Sara,

In my letter it said that about 450 odd cases have been transferred to the London office because NZ offices were swamped. It implied that they had contacted my current employer as part of the initial verification.

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll hear from them very shortly Smile

All the best,

Evelynne
