Hi all,
Our EOI has been selected from the pool a few weeks ago. We arrived in NZ in June, on 3 year work visa's. We were advised by our emigration consultants back in the UK to have medicals and police certificates done before we left the UK and we submitted all these with our application for a work visa to London, ... we think that's why we were issued a 3 year work visa as opposed to a 1 or 2 year.
Does anyone know if we will have to have all the medicals & police checks done again! They were all done within 2-3 months of us leaving (June) I really hope not as we paid a small fortune for them doing and my husband had to have further investigative scans etc on his heart. This proved to be negative (thankfully) but we had to pay privately to do this because of the timescale involved.
Has anyone had their medicals etc done in UK and then submitted an EOI in NZ? Just wondered if anyone was in the same boat |

Good luck with the EOI.
Sorry but the medcials only last 3 months!!! But the police certs last 6 months
I might have this wrong so you will need to check it out ...but...I seem to remember reading somewhere sometime back that case officers are able to extend there validity by a further 6 months at the discretion. As I said please check this out.....as I could have just dreamt it!!!

Hi WIZ,
Personally I think you were I'll advised by your consultants to go for a 3 year visa requiring medicals etc if your intention was to apply for PR this soon!
You could have saved a lot of money by applying for a 2 year visa without the need for the medicals and then had these done in NZ when you were ready to apply!
I'm afraid you will be required to repeat these I should speak to NZIS asap to discuss if you can use you current med's supplied for your LTWV!

Hiya Karl,
Just curious.....what does the text in your signature means? Is it the NZ native language? |

Hi Wiz,
Sesame asked the same question some time back!
It's from a Maori song called PoKareKare Ana! Translation is shown on this thread. Also Check out Hine e Hine, another firm favourite of mine!
Enjoy! Karl

The Wh=F sound is akin to the English Ph=F because there is no letter P in the Maori alphabet!
