Thanks Silversmith, my advice only applies to the EOI category if you are going for a family category proceed as shown with the appropriate forms. I am assuming NZIS have sent you the family forms rather than an EOI pack. Sorry for the confusion.....we are all EOI mad on this forum at the moment...it seems to overshadow the other categories!!!!!!

Hi everyone,
I called a panel doctor in Belgium and explained the situation to him.
Unfortunately he told me that he just had to examine, and not give advise, so he couldn't even tell me about the chances we have. He did say that disabled people (parents or children) often are held up with an idle story or declined. I hope he 's a liar
He told me to contact the embassy in London, but I believe nobody knows the answer and they will send me from one to another. I give up. We will proceed with our plans and hope for the best.
I feel so discouraged, but hey, I 'm a big girl. Let's go for it.

Hi Lesly,
I don't think any doctor would give a positive opinion on this one because they don't want to give you false hope! Anyway what do doctors actually know about the immigration process and the decisions made? Take heart from the feed back you got from your enquiries to immigration consultants. I think you've just got to proceed and hope for the best. I think its all about how you present your case in your application and the supporting evidence you supply when picked! Think about how you will answer follow up questions regarding your disabled child so that you can present the facts in a factual and positive manner.
Remember,

Great expression, Karl.
However I will once stop falling, I hope!
Conclusion is: we definately need a consultant.
I 'll also tell our specialist to not forget to mention the many positive things in his report.
We 'll survive this jungle, don 't worry!

Hi Lesly
I would suggest that you ring some of the panel doctors closer to you and make an appointment with one who is the most empthatic to your situation.
Apart from the doctor's fees, (which might seem to be a bit of a waste, to get this done so early), you will now be able to get the final medical report filled, and that will give you a firm indication whether to proceed further.
This might sound dumb, but thats what I would attempt to do in your situation.
regards and keep your spirits up.

Thanks Abdul,
I called the closest panel doctor in Antwerp, it 's just half an hour driving from our home, but I was hoping that this doctor had to give his advise to the immigration services. That way we could get an idea of our chances, but he told me he doesn't have any say in it, so he just has to do the examination, fill it in and send it to the London embassy. Apparently immigration service has doctors of its own to descide after they see the results of the medicals , so he told me to call London embassy. I don't even have to try this to know that they will give me the vague answer I usually get.
Conclusion is that nobody has the answer to this difficult question and that we just have to wait and see. Kind of sad, but we would at least have had a great holiday in New Zealand!!!
Thanks again for the help, Abdul, I 'll keep you posted. |
