I buy more fresh stuff and microwave meals are not big here so I dont get all the fast stuff I used to. Cakes are not like the uk either. I guess the answer is I still buy enough to feed the family but not so much junk. I miss microchips!
Incidently a large pizza from pizza hut is under £5 and there are always vouchers for buy one get one free and things. |

Andy is spot on about the lack of microwave meals or any half decent pre-prepared meals. NZ is a country where you have to start doing what you've seen all these TV chefs do. Take the raw ingredients and get to work yourself. As far as shop-bought pizzas are concerned, they are horrible. Have you tasted McCains pizzas Andy?
I hadn't tried Pizza Hut until they started putting leaflets in our mailbox a couple of months back. As you say, a large pizza for $12 and a regular one thrown in free feeds two adults and two kids fine at teatime and they're much better than the supermarket ones. |

Not bought a pizza yet from supermarket. My son misses micropizza and micro chips when he wants to snack on the weekend!
Gravy is terrible here too. I want a big tub of bisto granules! A pack of prawn cocktail crisps wouldnt go a miss either! |

My husband's trying to bribe the removals firm into letting us sneek in a case of Iron Bru.
It is available in NZ, but it's made by an austrailian company. It just doesn't taste the same, apparently.
Being a a Scot he is addicted to the stuff (personnally I think it's minging), so we've got a few weeks of cold turkey ahead. Great. |

I am sure there are websites where you can buy British products, check these out - I guess delivery might be a bit expensive but hey, if you need to fix a craving for property choc then no price is too high!!!
Here's a site that even ships Marks and Spencer's stuff !!!

All the best

Andy, had a look at a couple of internet shopping sites e.g.Woolworths and and the prices seem very similar to the UK. Expected them to be lower. Are the internet prices not typical ?
