|
|
We are here! Things going well, we arrived 8.30 Sat Morn and had a few days doing nothing,
Since then however we have sorted a car, sorted bank, new phone and cell phone numbers and generally had a good time including a visit to sticky fingers for dinner last night!!!.
Generally having a ball off on a bit of a holiday for weekend to explore and then our son is dying to start school so we have said that we will do our best to sort it for him end next week.
There were tears at the airport as our best friends dropped us off and there have been a few since, but nothing has made us feel that we made the wrong decision yet. I'm sure that there will be occasions where we will question our motives, but all we have to do is take a good look at what is around us and it will all become clear again.
If anyone wants any info or if we can just offer encouraging words let us know.
Anyway enough of my waffle bye for now

Tara. Glad you made it. It sounds like the decent weather is helping to keep spirits up , 18 degrees in midwinter cant be bad.
Hopefully that is the hard bit over with for now, and you can get on with building your new life . Good luck. (but you know you dont need it really) |

Hi Tara!! Well done
How did you find the flight etc? Can't remember if you had been to NZ before... what were your first impressions? And what is Christchurch like (could you take a walk down Manchester Street and give us the low down?!! )
Are you renting?

HI Having a great time and done loads of exploring including a trip to sticky fingers. The flights were good, but wouldn't flt via LA again that was manic we had to collect baggage and checkin again at every airport which wasn't to good when you only have and hour between connecting flights and a 6 year old child at 3am in the morning. However after a few days of doing not much we have been really busy. Have sorted out the bank and Car etc and J starts school this week. We visited on Thursday and he loved it and can't wait to go (even though he would be on his 6 week hols in UK)
Any questions we will do our best to answer.
Take Care

Hi Tara
Congratulations on your successful migration! Isn't it amazing how much you can get done when only a few weeks ago you were wondering if you could even get packed?
Have a wonderful time, get settled, assimilate and celebrate being a new Kiwi!
Hope we aren't contributing to a population explosion! The sheep need all of the space they can get! . |
