Always being one to pre-empt the red tape: In some countries home insurance can be a bit of a mine field, especially when it comes to natural disasters. I know of people in Alberta, Canada whom, when confronted by the sight of their homes bobbing down river, were telling us they weren't insured for this disaster because no company would give them a suitable policy. Not nice.
Does anyone have any knowledge or advice they could share on this in regards NZ? I'd hate to finally get to Wanganui only to lose me telly in a slide. Cheers. |
