I am a family man of 2, working in 2nd Line desktop support, I would like to know what is the first step regarding visa's. 
I have completed the the assessment and scored 120, so not really enough for instant residency. Will i need a job offer first or can you apply for a open work visa prior to arrival.
How do i get a work visa also as all forms shown on the NZ site is only for residency, can this be done without paying an "Immigration assistance company" |

| Hi Alex, you need a job offer to get a work visa/permit. If you are lucky, you will be able to get one by applying for jobs from the UK. Otherwise the route many people have taken is to come here on "holiday" to look for one. Obviously there are no guarantees that you'll get one. Best thing is to test the market for your skills before you come by phoning a few potential employers in NZ from the UK and ask them about the possibilites of you finding work if you were available for interview in New Zealand. |
