How much to bring ?

Kudos to everyone for making this forum very informative.I could practically find all relevant information that I need in order to have a better understanding to migrate to New Zealand.

I would like to post though a question that I have found no clear answer up to now.I would like to "how much would one bring say for a 6months in New Zealand as a visitor".You see guys I am planning to come to New Zealand as a visitor and stay with my gf.Upon which I have to initiated to find a job as soon as I can.

I am currently collecting some money from my home country and would like to know how much should one collect to safely make it to New Zealand ,have some buffer time to find a job to support and eventually make it there as a PR.

I am not looking for anything fancy in terms of lifestyle as any venture outside my home is a big adventure for me and I am in no position to fail.
So if any one of you guys could relate your experience and especially how much did you guys save up before going to New Zealand , that would be great.

Hi Ravi and welcome.
This is a big question, as it really depends on where in NZ you are looking to stay. Auckland is a lot more expensive than other parts for instance.
Do you know where you would saty??

I believe I would be staying in Auckland as my girlfriend stays there.The plan is that I move in with her initially until i could stand in my own feet.I have given myself a do or die mission basically to try my luck in a 6 months in New Zealand.If I fail , which I do not want to think about,I would return but for the 6 months I would want to save as much as I can before I set out to New Zealand.

I am planning to make the trip somewhere early next year but not until I am sure that I have collected enough money......

to make life simple for you timbo......i just would like a basic estimate for instance to land in NZ and stay for about 6 months.It doesn't matter if its just a figure out of the hat.....just something I could base my savings for
the NZ endevour!
