Marcel,
Firstly, welcome. Secondly, you're in the right place to get started. As a carpenter you should be in a good position to emigrate to NZ.
In order to apply for Permanent Residency (PR) you need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). When you submit an EOI you will be score a certain amount of points, depending on your circumstances (Education, Experience, Work etc.).
As your work would fall under the POL (Priority Occupations List) your points should be good although I can't verify this right now as I can't access the website. I would imagine that you may be able to secure a job offer without too much difficulty. As long as you have over 100 points you can submit your EOI for consideration. Right now any applications with 115+ points are being considered. If your application is being considered you will have to supply documentation such as medical and police certificates. If these all check out then you will be invited to NZ!
Your first step should be to check out your points, which you can do on the NZIS website:
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/
Use the 'Skilled Migrant Category Points Indicator' under Hot Links on the left to calculate your potential points and get back to us.
Good luck. |
