Welcome 'Chinese girl'!
Just choose something that sounds fun or that you like - a nice chinese word. It doesn't have to make sense or be anything in particular.
I like Hua Mai cos that is the panda that was born in San Diego and went back to live in China. I saw her in SD and hope to see her in her new home one day
What about the words for New Zealand and China?

Hi Chinese Girl,
I understand that most Chinese migrants like to adopt a western alias having worked for a Chinese friend myself for some years back in the UK.
Be aware that as in China western names have meanings as do chinese names and that this might be important to you! Also virtually all western/english names have origins that go back over centuries and will therefore not necessarily be derived from western cultures!
Get yourself a baby name book from Whitcoulls and find one that is similar in meaing to your chinese name, or just pick one you like the sound of.
My suggestion, for what it is worth, is Asha ( an ancient sanskrit name meaning HOPE). |
