Denise's speciality is accounting (Management and Financial) in the manufacturing industry. She has spent many years working in particular in food/dairy manufacturing.
Are there any particular areas/locations in NZ that have a manufacturing base as opposed to say a services base. I guess kinda like the difference between London (more financial services) and Manchester (more manufacturing/industrial)??
Thanks

Hi Ya!
The NZ depatment of statistics provide demographics on manufacturing industry etc.
Not suprisingly the Greater Auckland region, home to about 1.5 Million people is the main centre for general industry although Wellington and CHCH would also require Denises experience.
There are many food manufacturers and a glance through the NZ yellow pages will throw up names like Watties, ETA, Sanitarium etc.
Dairy is more widespread of course.
I wil try to find a link for you for futher info!! |

hi ya, the best site i have found for researching industries is as previously stated, is the new zealand yellow pages.
an interesting place you could try is the largest dairy in nz, its based in HAWERA sort of mid way between wanganui and new plymouth,we drove right past it last october whilst on holiday' and for the life of me i cannot remember the name of it, but i'm sure someone on this site will know!
on the other side of the north island in HASTINGS there is the company called WATTIES, this company was taken over some time ago by heinz and we all know the brands they produce.
in the same area "HAWKES BAY" you will find a lot of winerys, again possibly in your line of work.
hope this helps, good luck |
