Have read internet costs vary from $3 - $40 a week. At the moment I pay £25 a month for 756k speed. Anybody in the Auckland area (Karl) let me know the availability and cost of broadband. I hate watching the little blue bar slowly move, but I'm not Richie Rich.

There are many BB packages available and range from about $39 - $70/month depending on how much time you purchase. Xtra charge $69.95 for unlimited access, other providers include Whoosh and Telstra.

One thing you should do is to bring out your ADSL modem because you don't get them supplied "free" out here when you sign up!!!

check out http://www.xtra.co.nz or altavista/google .co.nz sites to search for rates.

All NZ phone connections are the same as the UK by the way so you can just plug and play!

Actually Karl, the reason we spend many an evening on the net typing

is cos of traditional British weather. Would probably change in NZ with all that beautiful Auckland sunshine. fingers crossed

It's been a great weekend in AKL....lovelly sunshine...clear skies....deep blue/green sea views. The kids have been to lollipops (a bit like a tumble tots/wacky warehouse on a bigger " kids come first" basis)....and now I relaxing with a beer after playing with the kids all day........ahhhhh!

Sounds excellent Karl. I need to mow the lawn but it's too wet at the moment. Can't go to the coast cos of the weather. Probably watch Monty try and win his 1st open fingers crossed
