Hi all

With a few of our friends due to come over I thought I'd share this one:

0800 467 272

This free call (within NZ) is for paradise/telstra clear who are decent chaps in the ISP business. If you select a paradise.net email you can sign up for 150 hours surfing per 28 days for $15 with no commitment to continue after.
They also have free to call tech support (although you will need to hold on a while to get through)

They had me online within an hour of my first call

There are loads of other ISPs - if anyone else has the phone number of others, perhaps they could be appended.

Another one to consider is KwikNet, which is the one I use. The charge is $15 per month for unlimited hours and unlimited downloads (bearing in mind that there is an automatic disconnection after 4 hours continuous connection).

The email support is free, but the telephone support is a 1900 number which is expensive.

Yes, there's broadband, if you're really desperate for it.

Hi All Smile

Yes, I can even get broadband in little old Rotorua! It's Telecom's Xtra JetStream ADSL and it's not cheap...about NZ$65/mo. but that's for unlimited use 24/7. They have other plans with limited up/down loads for less. Speeds run about 256 down and 128 up...far from the cable broadband I'm used to but better than dial-up.

There's some wireless broadband available in AKL, CCH and Wellington form "Woosh". Prices are about the same but performance is supposed to be much better. The drawback is that you have to have "line of site" to their antennas.

Hope that helps!
