hi,
Although IT jobs are on the shortage list, but the reality is extremly opposite, the main reason for that is the problem with work visa/permit. e.g., I have a degree major in INFOSYS, in addition, MCSE and MCDBA. However, most companies won't even consider offer a job without a valid work permit. The funny thing is how am I suppose to get a work permit, if no one gives me a job. |

My wife is a new zealander, so i guess residentship should not be a huge problem.
At the moment I am doing a course at Oracle to get Oracle certified (OCP)
I wonder what my chances are to find a job with this qualification.

| Try to get some experience in SQL Server 2000, I think SQL server 2000 is more popular than Oracle in NZ. |

Hello SilentRiver,
How long are you seeking job in NZ ?

Cheers. |
