Hello smiwee&all others on this post,

Before i go any further i want to say what a fantastic forum this is!! I only found it by accident and glad i did.Anyhow,as you can see it is my first post,so here goes.....we(me,wifey&two kids)will arrive in chch in november time as have visas(work)etc and just sold house and going through.we hope to settle outside of the city, say 20/30km from city centre and have read about Darfield, lincoln etc and they sound great, but does any-one know much about kaipoi or rangiora??

Any info on schools would be welcome as i hear zoneing is important in where to live.

It will take many hours to read every post and i will ask many questions once my head has stopped spinning!!

Thank-you.

HI all
Chch is definetely preferred choice for us as well. But could anybody of you give us a hint what the water temperatures are like during the summer season.
My wife is a bit concerned when she heard that it is rather cold.
Any comments??

Cheers

Well we were rather hoping it would be a nice temp but I gather from other posts on this forum that a wetsuit would be advisable down in the Christchurch area. In fact, a friend who went swimming with the dolphins near Akaroa (sp?) during mid summer earlier this year said a shortie was definitely needed Hmmm

I wonder what the water cleanliness is like - to be honest I'd rather forego a few degrees and put on a wetsuit than swim with sewage!! Wink Plus the wetsuit will protect from the sun Laughing which I believe is EVIL sigh
