This should be of interest to all you job seekers! I found this little gem tucked away in the business migrant pages of the NZIS website.

I'm not sure how current the information on job demand is, but it gives an insight into what Kiwi employers are looking for in the various trades and professions in terms of quals and exp. Also a list of potential employers for each category!!!

Happy hunting....Its a jungle out there...

I love this entry from the "Things Everyone should Know" paper

M A I N TAINING REALISTIC EXPECTAT I O N S

New Zealand is a highly educated, internationally
oriented society that embraces creativity, diversity and
promotes collaboration.

Four million people live in New Zealand.
The average size of a New Zealand business is only
five employees.

In 2001 there were only 1,337 business enterprises that
employed 100 or more full time employees.

Past immigrants who have had poor English, (or even a
strong accent) have had difficulty finding work.

It is important to check that New Zealand employers will
recognise your qualifications and experience.

You are free to apply for jobs in New Zealand from
outside New Zealand, but you will need to convince
New Zealand employers that your skills are valuable.
<-- How can you convince an employer since most of them post that only with PR or WP can apply?

It might be a good idea if they should post in single location or site, jobs that are open for potential immigrants ya?
