Hi,

I am currently in India and need to be in NZ by the end of this month if I want to keep my residency. I am an MCSE and am currently working as a sys admin in a big company and am quite pleased with the job. But I want to move to NZ as I belive the quality of life in NZ is much better that in India. But I am concerned about the job market there, I dont mind working odd jobs for some time till I get a good job, but would I stand a chance in NZ?

What are the oppurtunties for Windows / Exchange / SMS admins in NZ? Are immigrants employed as sys admins? Would you need local experience before some employs you? If no one employs because you dont have local experience, then how do you get local experience? how to get out of this catch 22 situtation :)

Thanks for reading the long post,
sekhar

sekhar,

Sys Ads are to be found on any org with an IT systems component has a Sys Ad.

Most answers to your question will be thru online. You can check out jobsites for jobs on your skills, nzqa, nzcs and other labor and IT related nz sites. For they have the stats and data. For now ITC is in demand as per NZIS.

catch 22.. well that has been echoed here several times but, that's the toughie one everybody has to leap out of.
