Hi

I'm new to this forum and have had a great time reading a load of posts and shouting them out loud to my hubbie(who is upstairs doing the dishes!). I'm Debs, and I'm actually a Kiwi but have been living in London for seven years with my English husband. We are planning the BIG MOVE to NZ (back home for me Smile ) sometime next year. I know we need to get a partner visa from my husband - do we need to do this before we go, or can we do it when we get to NZ? And has anyone gotten NZ citizenship and passports for their children from this part of the world? Where would I get application forms for these? Sorry, not up on all this stuff but would appreciate some help from anyone who's been there done that!

Thanks
Debs cool

Welcome Debs!

Interesting to note that you are returning to NZ - always a good sign I feel!

Where in NZ are you from originally and what do you look forward to most when arriving home?

Can't answer your partnership questions myself but you'll get an answer soon enough - great gang here Yes

Good Luck

hi debs

i was in your position about a month ago - my wife is an aucklander and we're hoping to move over there later this year. i am applying for PR before we go as we can't move straight away anyway. have a look on the NZ immigration website at www.immigration.govt.nz. this will pretty much answer everything and there are "step by step" guides to getting your application in. this is probably the bit of the site most useful to you:

http://www.immigration.govt.nz/Migrant/Stream/Live/Partner/HowDoIApply/

there are medicals to do and police certificates to get but it's not turning out to be as complicated as i thought! (cross fingers i hope it stays that way fingers crossed )

you certainly hit on the right forum too - this place is great for info and morale Smile

good luck!
matt
