| What do you think Jamie, is there any chance that NZIS would look to the people who applied under the old system, and were not lapsed yet, to complete the number of immigrations they need? |

Old system? GSC? IGSC?
They're still being finished and only handling ones who made the cut at that time.
They'll adjuts the points mix to amke things easier and ask you to apply again I think. More $$$$ to them.

here's hoping.
They're so damned intransigent it's hard to say.
And if they do step back a bit, there will be a deluge of files put up for reconsideration and they'll then have to explain why they said no....
house sold, gotta book the tickets. Have got my partner here to carry on with NZ stuff while I set up in Aus.
cheers

Because SMC doesn't really work unless you get points for the job, NZIS have been taking tougher line on relevance of skills.
There are (often fake) companies earning money selling job offers, that's why NZIS are going hard. Last offer to me was $10,000 and income tax paid by applicant. Penalty of criminal conviction, six figure fine and loss of reputation. Not interested in helping corrupt people either, in case they get into position of influence in NZ and sell themselves out as they asked others to do earlier.
Just make sure that the offered job's position description overlaps several sections of your CV, that employer has advertised BEFORE he offered you the job, that the employer's business is stable and makes profit (I know, growing businesses need more staff to make more money and we have a worker shortage but you ARE dealing with NZIS here).
7 Ps of success:
Proper Prior Preparation Prevents P*ss Poor Performance.
Cheers
PS We're going to Melbourne, bigger market, better opportunities, more cake shops, not so many spiders...oh, and family there. NZ Busines Planners will be operated by my business partner here in Auckland, idea is we can service clients in both countries.
