Hi,
I finally have a date, Nov.10, 2004, for moving to Wellington on a work holiday. My plan is to stay in a B&B until I find a nice place to live, suggestions for a good B&B or hotel/motel are welcome as well .
To the point, I need a car to go look at the places. What is required for me to purchase and drive around a motorcycle within a couple days of landing in Wellington. I have seen a lot of information on this but it all contradicts and doesn't make any type of conclusion. I am not 21 so I cannot rent a car, I have plenty of money to pick up a motorcycle or car, prefer bike, as well as a valid US drivers license with a motocycle certificate (doubt that actually means anything down there).
If anyone could please let me know what is necessary to be able to legally drive and purchase a bike/car as soon as I get down there. Is it as much of a pain to deal with the DMV down there as it is here? (i.e. 4-5 hr wait) |

| Hi, I would suggest that you look into backpackers hostels for a place to stay, they also have loads of info about flat shares, bike and car licences etc. try www.backpackerboard.co.nz |
