Especially those of you from English countrys...Are any of you looking to get your education and your work experience approved by the New Zealand Qualification Authority.
I am wondering whether employers are looking for this type of information. I can understand if you are not coming from an English speaking country but if you are then your esumé listing your qualifications and the courses that you have taken in university is pretty self explanatory. Or are employers not willing to take a chance and want something more official.
Any opinions on this? My husband has viticulture experience and I am in IT in Canada... |

We sent off hubbys qualis to be checked back last year, but this was mainly to make sure we could get the points we wanted. However, when I was phoning around potential employers I did mention that we had checked them out, and that they were equivalent to the nz qualis. But, i'm not completely sure whether or not this made any difference.!!! |

| My DH is a teacher, and becuase of the nature of the job he had to get his qualifications assessed by the NZQA, as it is a registered profession, and his salary is determined on how highly qualified he is (it was worth doing that MSc after all!). I on the other hand have been offered a local authority job, and they aren't interested in NZQA, they only asked for photocopies of my certificates with the job application. So unless you have been told in advance that you will need NZQA, I wouldn't bother. |
