North Carolina to New Zealand -- need advice

Hello,

I am a 27 year old college student and security guard in North Carolina. I will be finished with my Bachelor's Degree in History by the end of 2005. Since I do not have many family ties left here in North Carolina -- I have long considered a move to New Zealand. I am pleased to see that New Zealand had a sizeable number of Scottish descendants like myself and appears to be a peaceful place -- full of opportunity.

I was wondering what my chances were for becoming a resident or citizen of the country? Also if there is an agency or group that could assist me in locating a job there?

I had considered a move to New Zealand via the educational route -- which at the moment appears to be the best idea.

I would greatly appreciate any advice in this regard. Thanks so much.
