Hi Jules,
How's Selly Oak these days?
Do you actually lecture or is this a honorary title? If so probably not. You really need to state your actual occupation. If this is indeed lecturer then this is fine, however the Masters requirement my be a bit tricky unless you can convince NZQA you have experience equivalent to a Master Level qulaification...do you have a PGCE???

Hi Karl
Thanks for your reply. Selly Oak is the same as its always been ... loads of traffic !!! lol. How do you know Birmingham?
I have my own business and university lecturing is part of my work. I have been lecturing part time for two years (both degree and diploma courses) and i also lecture a diploma course for Connexions. And ... i do commity development consultancy, in-house training and youth inclusion as well (amongst other things).
no i dont have a PGCE ..... pooh - i dont mind studying for another year to help me to get what i need to get in to NZ but i cant enrol now for this year so it would be two years before i could apply to emigrate ... i don't want to wait that long
Take Care

Hya
Well, here's another question for you Brummieguy Like most Brummiegals, i'm a single parent ... 2 kids ... will this effect my chances of getting in to NZ?
How long have been in NZ? (she asks GREEN with envy), what the biggest difference to the uk? I lived in SA for 13 yrs and it was sooooo lovely, but no chance going back there!! lol |

Hi Jules,
As long as you have a job that can support you and your children this should not be a problem and would not count against you!
I've been here since 21st March 2004 but I used to live here 1987-1991.
There are as many differences as there are similarities with the UK I suppose and a trawl through some of the threads will enlighten you on the good, the bad and the ugly. NZ is a suffusion of the UK/Aus/USA influences but it is unique and has it's own way of doing things.
Suffice it to say that we really enjoy living here and that life somehow feels more vibrant and purposeful and my twin girls are having a ball!
I needed to get out of a dead end job and I could see my little daughters gowing to the local estate schools and being locked into a system I grew up in and hated.
This way I can give them two nationalities, open up there opportunities for later life and give them a really good childhood and education.....thats my focus and much of the reason I decided to return.....they mean the world to me!
I'm not one to knock the UK as you will see from my previous postings and I didn't come out here this time because of any |
