Hi All
I've been dipping in and out of the forum over the last few weeks and picking up lots of useful information. My wife and I and 3 kids are planning to move to NZ next year. I am a mental health nurse. I am looking for peoples' views about working in the mental health services in NZ, especially the Wellington area. I have heard mixed views about the mental health services. I would ideally be looking to work in a community based mental health service.

I have had the pleasure of meeting a number of mental health nurses in a local adolescent PICU and found that the attitudes were very similar to the UK. Certainly it seemed to me that the nurses were very much practicing members of the team.
Apart from the accents, only the fact that the ward was clean and did not smell distinguished it from the several I went into in the UK.

I regret I cannot help with the community aspect.
