Hi All

Just spotted this morning on the NZIS website:

The EOI selection is to take place next week (from Mon 16 Feb) and then fortnightly draws. Successful folks to be notified within few days of draw.

At last!

Indeed. I have phoned NZIS this morning and told me that for those who filed on-line will not be sent any letter of confirmation for entrance to the pool rather the status of being "Submitted" and payment has been paid it will be into the pool. Confirmed that ours is in the basket.
This could also mean that for those who will be picked a status will also be available on-line.

Goodluck to all of us!! Nice One

A notice has also been issued:

Quote:
Important Notice: Online Expression of Interest Unavailable 15 February
The New Zealand Immigration Service’s Expression of Interest computer system is being upgraded and will be unavailable between 2.30pm/14.30 and 6.00pm/18.00 (NZ time) on Sunday 15 February 2004.

This means you will not be able to access, complete, or submit an online Expression of Interest during this period.

However, if you find you can still access the online Expression of Interest computer system between 2.30pm/14.30 and 6.00pm/18.00 (NZ time) on 15 February it will mean the decision to upgrade the computer system has been postponed until further notice. Therefore you can proceed and use the system.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Hmmmm, the immigration agent who's dealing with my colleague's application said his guess was that the selection point for the first draw would be set at 170-180!!!

I seriously find that hard to believe - surely that would even preclude some people with quals, work experience and jobs/job offers, which I would have thought would have been the type of migrant NZ was hoping to attract.

Oh well, I guess all will be revealed next week!

hard to say.

There are backlogs to clear, and this will hold up points mark, before they settle as result of reduced inflow.

Backlog - Interim GenSkills mandatory job offer required since July - those without jobs could not apply. GenSkills closed for several weeks since November - so fewer cases coming in and only ones with job offers felt confident to apply.

India is poruned right back, as are China and Korea and most non-western nations.

So , maybe 160-190 range this draw, and I'm picking wihtin 6 months it's down to 110-115.

fingers crossed
