| How does one get one of these? is there some form you download from the government site and just have any doctor fill out, or do you have to have an approved doctor fill out, or get it down once you arrive in country? |

Hi Gratto
I think this thread will have the info you need in regards to the forms. You can have the medical done in your home country or in NZ, but if it is done in your home country you need to use one of the approved doctors on the NZIS list. |

| Looks like I need to have that done once I get there. I doubt there are any approved docs around where I live. |

| Gratto - the Panel Docs list is very large and covers most countries in the world ... I was very surprised how large it was with over 1000 docs listed. |

Hi
As a rough guide these are costs that were quoted from a clinic in Christchurch NZ for the immigration medicals.
Doctor $ 95
X ray $ 55
Bloods $ 15
All costs above are in NZ $
Yes ,you can download the form from the website or obtain the forms from any NZIS office
Medicals are valid for only 3 months and I would suggest leaving this until the last.
Hope that this helps

Hi Moorf,
Can you please help me finding the approved doctors in U.S.A.. I tried to look on the NZIS website and could not find one. If there are no approved doctors in U.S., can I get the medicals done by my primary physician??
All help is greatly appreciated.
BTW, congrats on your EOI selection. You've won the first battle and good luck for the next phase. I have 170 points and will be submitting my EOI next week. Waiting for my job offer letter. |

Howdy Moorf,
Thanks for the link. I actually tried that earlier but was not able to find anything for U.S. I even tried the NZIS operational guide and there is nothing in there for panel doctors in U.S..
Am I missing something here
I case if there are no panel doctors for NZIS in U.S., then can I get the medicals done by my GP??
Awaiting your reply...... |

Weird - I just tried too - I tried United States, America, USA, even typed in some names of states and major towns but, you're right, nothing came up!!
It took me a bit of digging to find the UK ones as UK, England etc didn't bring up any results - in the end I had to type in several major towns in our area and only then did it return any info!
Sorry, I can't find anything else on it either.... ... damn I failed |

Just checked the invitation to apply pack and there is no mention of panel docs in there either.
Might be best to try the helpline number if you have one over there.

We live in Toronto, Canada and had the same issue in Canada.
We called the New Zealand High Commission in Canada and were told that we could go to our local GP...thats is what we did. Also told that we need not submit the x-rays if no problems found. We are submitting our visa applications on Monday.
Regards
Peter |
