did anyone see today's sunday times article about a british family holiday to nz?
'.....we were in the park, beside a beach, children at play, boats in the water, and i had a terrible feeling that i'd missed the whole point of living. our home should have been here, living a life of greens and blues, boats and beaches, seafood and sauvignons, walks and wilderness. i simply didn't want to go home. and therein lies both the pleasure and pain of new zealand. you don't so much go for a holiday as a way of life. and if, like us, you have a fantastic time, the prospect of returning to britain can be deeply saddening. all air tickets to the place should carry a health warning.'
i can't wait. |

hi - how I agree with everything in that newspaper cutting - that is exactly how I felt when I visited NZ in July for 3 weeks. I was so miserable on my return to UK, I decided there and then that I was going to move to NZ asap. As a nurse, I am on the POL and have luckily secured a job. Have a work visa already and now waiting for invite from pool. This whole process of applying for emigration has taken over my life for the past 8 months or so - I can't wait to get back out there and start living as a kiwi! We are going to live in ChCH.
Good luck! |
