| I'be been to the library and got myself a book too. According to the book its just under 25 miles from PN to Himatangi beach. Book also says that Himatangi beach is 10km long. 'In the summer its patronised by the locals but for the rest of the year its deserted.' |

Hello all,
Palmy is my home town and from a biased viewpoint, you couldn't choose a better place to live!
Well, it was just fine 24 years ago when I left!
What hasn't changed is the distance to the beach. About 30 minutes will get you to both Foxton and Himitangi, in fact you can drive a car from one to the other at low tide. Though a lot of people would insist on a 4WD, I did it heaps of time in a 1961 PA Vauxhall!
Throw some drift wood together, light up a fire and have yourselves a sausage sizzle while you're there, and wash it all down with a couple of flagons of DB! (thats the local brew) (Dominion Breweries by the way)(quaint name what?!) |

Sounds wonderful - can't wait. Dave loves having impromptu barbies out in the wild, sounds just up his street.

Sounds like you're getting excited now - do you now where you will be living yet. Are you going to rent somewhere first. I've still got my for arriving on 23rd September. Dave has to settle up for the new house in Feilding on Monday. One bridging loan and a mortgage here for a while . He's really looking forward to being in his own place at last. |
