Hi I'm new to the site, so I do apologise if this question has been asked before. We are due to leave the UK for Tauranga area in June and wondered if anyone has received good advice regarding pensions and savings?

Hi wiz,

There are meant to be tax advantages to bringing your UK pension over here fairly smartish.

I'd say if you've got a final salary scheme, keep your money in it. Final salary schemes are brilliant and your money is much less exposed in one than it is in a private scheme.

If you've not got a final salary pension, I'd still be inclined not to rush into anything. Best live here for a year or two and decide if it's really the place you want to spend the rest of your life.
