Hi Jas,
They key is to get a relavent job offer I'm afraid. You can do this by approaching potential employers via consultants however in my experience many give you false hope of finding job. I am sure there are some ggod ones out there but they are few and far between. Specialist recruiters in some fields are good such as IT and Medical professions. Next step is to approach potential employers directly, you may get lucky as we did and get a job offer after a telephone interview. This took us 3 months of trying before we got a bite!!!!! You should also consider coming to NZ on a Visitors Permit (holiday) and attend interviews etc to secure a position. If you put yourself in an employers position they really want to see who they are hiring...fact of life! many employers do not know there way through the migration process and can be scared off by all the red tape so you may need to do some hand holding if a job offer comes your way. What line of work are you looking for or are qualified in?

Hi jasnidolah
We were in a similar position, 165 points with jobs 100 without. We went over on holiday for a month in May, travelled about a bit, and then Hubby applied for (and got) a job. His job is on the OSL, so Im not sure if this made it easier for us. However, it was also good to look around and make sure we really liked NZ.
Good Luck |

Thanks guy for the advise.
Actually i did my B.A Degree from Wanganui Polytechnic, New Zealand(91-94) and i really realy love NZ and wish to seatle there. My field is more on Multimedia, Broadcasting, Desktop Publishing and Web Design.
Before i left NZ 9 years ago, NZ Immigration send me a brochure to apply for PR but it was too late coz we just about 1 week left to go home for goods.
Thanks in advance. |
