Maybe a bit previous or just plain hopeful !
If I get selected and they run some checks on my application, I guess they will try and contact the "contacts" in the EOI. Well most of them will not be there anymore, in fact most of the companies have gone bust/merged/whatever.
Any advice what I should do?
cheers

| We are in same position - but I suspect they come across this scenario alot and have ways to check existance of the company etc etc... |

Hi
Glad to here again I am not the only one that worries about such details.
I have just been selected from the Pool this week and I am starting to run around like a headless chicken incase something goes wrong. Do the NZIS contact the employers or are we expected to provide the information.
I have been trying to contact old employers from the 1980's. But companies have closed or been merged and it is impossible to find out any info.
Bye for now off to run around getting nowhere

I guess I should keep it from potential employers that everywhere I have worked has gone bust or been taken over! ;-)

Do they actually call the companies up? I would be worried about them contacting my present employer, as they don't know anything about what I am up to (and I don't want them to know either!!!)
???? Worried.... |

Howard
Same here. So in my EOI I put the contact for my current job as me (as I am contracting and effectively I am my own boss). I think when you complete the EOI you give them permission to contact anyone, but I would have hoped they would have the grace to ask us first?
Hope someone knows
cheers

When I filled out my EOI, in the box where you write down details of the job, I put a comment saying that it was my current job, and to please not contact them before speaking to me.
Seemed the most sensible way to approach it |
