Is it worth bringing quilts and pillows, I'm sure I read somewhere that even poor quality ones are expensive.

Hi, michelle,
I can't attest to the quality of these items in New Zealand, but I can tell you this: Without exception, everyone I know who has gone before me has said, bring everything, bring everything, bring everything.
So we're going to!
All the best, Rae |

hi, we moved out here a couple of months ago and my opinion on bringing stuff over is ....
IF YOU'VE ALREADY GOT IT AND ITS IN NORMAL CONDITION, BRING IT
It soon adds up when you have to go out and buy even little bits like dustpan and brush, brooms, loo brushes, etc.
We packed our own stuff and contacted a freight company, in our case crayford freight in Essex, and took it down to them by lorry and they packed the container for us. With us it was a bit complicated as we were moving a ski and snowboard business over here as well as personal stuff., and there is no way we could have afforded sodmeone else packing it up for us. nothing got broken (after all packing is not rocket science) and its all arrived here and it was a lot cheaper. |

I just have to weigh in on this one, as it is a subject near and dear to me! Staying warm that is! I know that hitting a one-day sale at Macy's before our move will be in order, as the pricing and the quality on towels and other bed gear just can't be beat here in the USA. I plan to have enough towels and things to warm up with to last a lifetime, and I don't care what other things I have to skimp on to make room. Bed, Bath and Beyond rules! |

| Yes, bring everything even appliances like vacuum cleaners, answering machines and mixers can always be run on a transformer. Quality and selection are poor here. Prices are ridiculous too. I am regretting all the things that I didn't bring. |

This is starting to sound like a good reason to hit the sales! Throwing out old stuff but may well replace it now as we are getting a 20ft container and so far its only two thirds full.
Thanks for the advice.
Michelle. |
