Thought I'd ask the question to see what people get up to after work and on the weekends?
Me and the family will soon be heading back that way and I intend on getting a 4WD and get into a bit of serious Tramping, Skiing and maybe a bit of pig hunting to boot
What do you all get up to, and/or, what would you like to get up to?
c'mon now, dinnae be shy................... |

| Hiya Pakeha. I am really looking forward to getting into Nz fishing, specially up on Coromandel. Have heard loads of good storys and cant wait to get stuck in. Not sure about pig hunting, well not with dogs anyway. Will probably look at the bow hunting scene out there though. |

Ohh anything to do with water really - sea kayaking is top of my list, along with scuba.. I'd like to try deep sea fishing although not sure if it's rather a man's domain there (any comments?)... (are the Kiwi men like Aussie men in that way?)
Other than that I'd like to advance my photography... |

Moorf, everything that I gather the woman can do anything they want including being Prime Minister.
We had a progam on local us t.v with the prime minsiter and a pudgy american interviewer, she dragged him along the whole continent kyaking, camping, repelling down cliffs, and summiting snow covered mountains, a definite tom boy and proud of it.
Me personally I dream of catching my first 5 pound trout, a real feisty wild one. I have spent 1 week a year since I was in diapers(I have the pics of me in a daiper with a rod and reel) fishing for trout in California.
All if it was devine preparation for the worlds ulitimte fishing mecca. N.Z |

I'm hoping to get a horse and take up horse riding again. Hubby wants to learn to surf, otherwise we're planning to swim, walk on the beach and do lots of bird- and animalwatching.

That's encouraging Justin - thanks - I am a total tomboy! My mum couldn't stop taking pics of me on my wedding day purely because I had a dress on (shoulda put my Doc Martens on underneath!!!)
I saw that documentary too - the one where she took him on the speedboat ride etc - was great!!
Now, with regards to sea fishing (I should probably start up another thread here ) do you need to be strong for sea fishing?? We had a chance to try it in Barbados but hubby hurt his leg so we didn't bother... but I am concerned my back won't take it.... |
