If your interested in the beautiful Coromandel Penninsular. The booming Whitanga district in particular. Then these guys are for you.
http://www.weca.co.nz/
Whitianga has a steadily growing English community. Schooling from pre-school through to secondary. Great beaches and surrounding bush areas. Regular fishing competitions and a generally relaxed way of life.
I've been here for 2 weeks now and just can't believe how great the area is!
Check 'em out! |

Having dealt with many a builder in the UK, I think I'd wait until they had built your house and you were in your house and happy with your house before advertising their services so enthusiastically. |

Well, my good friend. This company is my fathers and he is in business with an English friend of ours from Taiwan.
Only positive comments please, things are going very well. My father would bend over backwards to make sure people are getting what they want. He's been in the realestate business on and off for over 20 yrs, as well as various other proffessions. 2 yrs ago he was managing a directional drilling company operating out of Ireland. He put this company on their feet. They were very sorry to see him go.
I've met some of the people living in these homes. Their happy with the quality and more than happy with the service.
Everyone's getting a good deal!
Thanks,
Steve |

Hi Steve. I have to agree that Whitianga is a great place. My wife Sarah and I visited in March 04 and really fell in love with it. I am hoping above all else, to relocate there asap. Will have to start new business if I cant get a decent job offer. Housing is quite expensive by NZ standards, so we may end up on the outskirts somewhere. Who cares, its ALL fantastic.
I actually poppped into the Weca office and had a (brief) chat with Mr. Wedd, the director. He told me that he has employed several expat brits in the building trades. I myself am a painter decorator here in England, and will probably have to carry that on in NZ to satisfy immigration rules. I am currently looking at a franchise set up, but not sure yet. I need all the help I can get with research, so stick around on this gforum will ya.
Cheers
Tim
PS. dont shout too loud about Whitianga, or they will all want to go there. |

| Yeah everyone wants out of the city these days. I've just spent the last 6 yrs in Taiwan working in the pipeline drilling industry. NZ really blew me away when I returned, even Auckland City seems like the countryside. Whitianga is a different world entirely. It's still a small town, although there's alot of construction going on. I guess you saw the "Waterways" development. There's going to be some fairly big houses going in there. It's just a matter of timing. This coming summer will be interesting. If your in the building industry you should be fine. As well as the houses we also handle 2 KiwiSpan franchises, which are steel structures such as sheds, factories, commercial buildings etc. We're having problems finding builders. Everyones just too busy! |

| Hi Steve. Yeah we saw waterways developement (start of). I just hope and pray that it doesnt get too out of hand and end up with high rise buildings spoiling the fantastic panorama. We satyed up at Kuaotunu bay. Heaven on earth, especially compared to where we live in uk. |

Hi Steve,
I don't suppose you'll be looking for qualified chippies (22 years exp + 12 as site manager). Will be coming over mid / late next year for about three months. Or would you know of any builders, either commercial or residential who may be interested, preferably govt. accredited? Any info would be greatly welcomed.
Thanks.
