The boss and I are trying to find out information regarding moving to New Zealand to retire:
Do you have to have a minimum amount of cash?
If yes how much?
Does this include money to buy a house?
What is the minimum amount of guaranteed pension you would need?

Hi Ken,

Not an expert on this...not a problem I'm going to face for a while!!

I don't think there is a residency policy for "independent retirees"; i.e. people who want to move to NZ and have enough money to look after themselves. If you're over 56, you can't get residency through the SMC either.

If you've got the finance to keep two houses going, you are able to stay there for 6 months at a time on a UK passport and so you could share time between NZ and UK.
