Hi
My partner has just been offered a job in Rotorua . I was wondering if anyone has any info on nice areas around Rotorua?
We have no kids so schools arent important, both in our mid thirties
We dont fancy living in the centre but not too rural, I rather fancy Ngongotaha . Is this too out of town? Suggestions very welcome
We hope to be out there by October/November time, if the house sells

You sensible people arriving in time for summer rather than for the floods and winter weather! We've been in Rotovegas since June and have seen it all from floods to earthquakes to landslips - but it's great here honest!! We've rented in town (hillcrest) with a view to looking for something more rural now that we are a bit more settled. Rural areas that seem popular include Ngongataha (closer to town than many rural places), Waikite Valley (lots of lifestyle type plots and big plots), Lakes Tarawera and Okareka (very expensive to buy - but absolutely lovely down by the lakes). Property is generally fairly cheap around here, except in the really popular places - Lynmore, Tarawera, Okere Falls.
Where is your husband going to be working? Are you working too? Best of luck, pm me if you want any moreinfo. Rich (US) is living out at Ngongotaha - hopefully he will see your message too!
