Reminds me of when we made moves to leave England, the Cuba crisis was on, and everyone was saving canned food etc. I thought "we dont have to put up with this for the rest of our lives" Uhoh http://www.nzherald.co.nz/storydisplay.cfm?storyID=3580791&thesection=news&thesubsection=world[/url]

Wasn't too pleased by the bomb scare on the plane out of Sydney either - I am glad that we picked a non Brit / non US run airline for our trip. Also saw article on NZHerald site mentioning Kiwi's and Italians to be targetted - great.. we're off to Italy 2 weeks before we leave for NZ Sad

i think the loonies would only be interested in hitting london. they wouldn't get the same twisted 'publicity' value from hitting kings lynn or kirkcaldy. i just hope the security people keep right on top of them.

I agree, London would be the obvious target for a number of reasons. But equally if security is focussed on London, the guard may be a little down elsewhere and there are plenty of heavily populated cities etc that could also be targeted. Thanks to the Government for creating a climate of fear amongst the population, many of whom now think they were conned into going into war.

It is unbelievable isn't it, when Bl*ir (I can't even bring myself to type his name in full anymore) is now saying that toppling Saddam was justified and necessary to make "the world a safer place" just as we are being bombarded with Government sponsored information on what to do in the event of a terrorist attack. What world is he actually referring to do you think? Wayne's World? Some parallel earthlike planet existing in a different dimension? What an absolute @"!?* that man is. Actually, to be fair, you could probably apply that to virtually all the politicians at Westminster.

Wonder how long it will take me to be scathing about the politicians in NZ!?

You are right that London is the prime target but there are many other targets all round the country. Bush and Blair have left a right mess. I was reminded of this on a trip to Berlin where the USA and UK embassy buildings had huge concrete blocks to block off the road and armed guards in place at all times. A big contrast to the other embassies where there were NO security measures visible. This protection has been in place since B & B started the oil war.

Saw a program a while back where the NZ PM took someone round NZ. She was the most down to earth and normal person in politics I have seen. Would be interesting to see what the NZ people think of her.
