Hi all
I think I mentioned in earlier posts that NZIS may have chosen 195 as that level deals with people in NZ already, and easier to verify.
Rumour 1. There are about 7,000 EOI registered now.....
Rumour 2. About 1/3 of the chosen cases with 195+ are apparently grossly overstated in points.
I'm guessing, but it appears that a bunch of people with job offers, but from non-comparable countries, have overlooked the matter of needing expereince in 29 selected countries to get points for work experience.
I also suppose a bunch of mainly 3rd world agents have been holding lapsed skilled migrant cases, or cases for people who would usually make it if it wasn't for the 29 country thing, and stuffed them in the system, maybe tweaked the points to do some fishing.
Doesn't help any of you that NZIS will be facing a real bog down if this is the case, NZIS may have to task more people to deal with verification and rely less on "smart" software. The costs were set on software doing more of the work, so fees might alter....
This is still a teething problem, if you like, but months ago NZAMI indicated to NZIS that this would probably happen
I suspect that because they've relied on software rather than Mark 1 eyeball to select cases, they have had to speculate about the numbers of cases that would have overstated points,a nd it seems liek they have it all wrong.
With the Minister's departure, it might take a bit longer to build high level relationships and for all this stuff to be confirmed in open discussion.
Ah well, more "unexpected"delays that were in fact foreseen but just ignored... |

I must confess I find the 7,000 EOIs quite difficult to believe. Officially there were 2200 odd at the first selection which would imply that 5,000 have been submitted in the last few days.
Given the high selection point I'd have thought there would have been comparitively few EOIs submitted until things have settled down.
Oh well, I guess we can but wait and see. It's going to be a roller-coaster ride as you say JCM, that's for sure |

7,000, aye, source is not the usual horse's mouth, however still very reliable. Perhaps, just perhaps, it's logged on but not yet submitted to pool, ie work in progress.
NZIS had to update the server as thousands of EOIs nearly killed it. | evelynne_r wrote: | I must confess I find the 7,000 EOIs quite difficult to believe. Officially there were 2200 odd at the first selection which would imply that 5,000 have been submitted in the last few days.
