Am I right in thinking that a selection will be made from the SMC pool on Wednesday this week ?
How soon after does the fact that you've been selected to apply show on the web site ?
Anyone care to speculate about the likey points required next week ? |

Yes, you're right. Selection is this wednesday.
When we were selected our online status changed the next day and we received written confirmation from NZIS about a week after.
What the selection point will be is anyones guess but mine is 110.
Good luck to all those in the pool.

Yep, I'm hoping for selection this week, I've put in an electronic EOI about a week ago, we've managed to put togther 125 points between us.
I'm in IT and am claiming points for skills in area of future growth, plus absoulte skills shortage (I do Cisco and Citrix mostly), we both have degrees. I think we ought to be ok, but it's a nervous few days.
I'm really hoping that our move to NZ works out, I've had enough of Scottish winters. We were going to move to the US a couple of years back, we spent ages going through the whole US immigration process and got our visas, but the job offer fell to bits at the last minute and we were stranded here. |

Hi Foolsgold,
I really hope the NZ thing works for you, then I'm sure you'll be glad the US job fell through!!
I've also claimed absolute skills shortage points, that whole area of the form is pretty ambiguous though, do you know if the fee is payable again if a mistake is made? I certainly hope not.
Good luck to everyone for this Wednesday, let's hope the score comes down again or at least doesn't start to creep back up!!

Hi foolsgold,
If you are really desperate like I was, sit up till about 2am, then its the next day in NZ, check the website and where it said submitted it should say selected. I was very bleary eyed when I did it, but I think it was worth it |
