Hi Laura
Good for you! Now the next part of the waiting begins.
How did you find out so quickly about the new points? I'm in NZ, waiting to hear wheter my EOI has been accepted, but no news on email or the NZIS webpage.
Oh, and why are you still awake? Isn't it something ridiculous like 2 a.m. in Birmingham?
Good luck for the rest of the process...
Cheers

Hi Karl and Laura
I was also wondering whereabouts in Birmingham you're from, Laura. What about you, Karl? I lived in Sutton Coldfield for 2 years, although I'm not a born-'n-bred Brummie - South African, actually.
Anyway, it's nice to meet you all.
Cheers

Wow!! Did anyone else expect 115?
What happens now???? We're very excited!
Dan
PS: still fingers crossed for everyone on 100-110. Looks like you won't have too long to wait. I was thinking 125, maybe 120, but never 115!! |

Just seen this on my electronic EOI page:
| Quote: | Congratulations.

We will conduct some preliminary checks of the information you have provided to determine whether your claim is accurate. Following this checking, you may be invited to apply for residence in New Zealand.

Hi Tash & Laura,
I'm a born and bread Brummie although my parents origins are in The Black Country...West Brom, London and Portsmouth....what a mixture.
Potted history of Moi?
Born in Handsworth (lovelly suburb...not) in the sixties, Moved to Nailsea Near Bristol aged 6, moved back to Brum at 9 and lived or was it existed in Lozells (rougher than Handsworth even in the days of the riots), moved to Newtown (Drugsville), left school...it was a school well worth leaving, bought a House in Great Barr (which is where I called home until recently) Took off to NZ in 1987 and rented the house out while away ended up in Suva, Fiji for a while, returned to Great Barr 1991, met wifey in a research lab, wifey is from Nailsea ...spooky.... and we attended the same junior school....quite pervy really until you realise there was a 5 year age gap...... Had kids....eventually (IVF saga wont bore you with gorey details but 6 years later TWIN GIRLIES and I love'em to bits), 2004 returned to NZ...Phew I'm knackered!!!!! |

Hi Karl, hi everyone... where's Moorf today??
Does being born in Solihull count as being a Brummie? I've never met anyone from Brummagem who considers Solihull to be on the same planet!
But seriously, does anyone have a timetable of what happens next if you've got enough points? I'm gathering together evidence of work experience, degree certs, etc. When's best to get the police cert and the medical, given that both of these cost money? Do I need to get my degree certs certified by NZQS (Oxford, Edinburgh) or are they automatically accepted? Is NZIS going to give us any instructions? What's the timescale?
Sorry to bombard with questions - I'm just rather excited! We've been waiting for this for about 2 years (since we were last in NZ)! We're ready to move but I guess with all the paperwork it'll take a fair few months.
Hooray!

Hi Dan,
Arrange yor police certs now...they will take about 6 weeks to come! These are valid for 6 months. DO NOT get medicals until you have all your other paperwork together as they are only valid for three months. These will take about 7-10 days to get all your paperwork back and signed after your pee sample and Chest X-Ray. Your certs do not need NZQA assesment if they are from a recognised institution i.e. are on the NZIS list of approved providers.....if they are not on the list start the NZQA hurdle first as it can take a while to get a ruling....see Graham Barnes experience on another thread.....Re NZQA.......
Thats about it really! Should take about 6-10 weeks to amass everthing necessary to submit! London can process in about 4-6 weeks at present!
