Just checked with Bishops Move (removal co) with whom we currently have most of our worldy possessions in storage and they are quoting approx £2700 for a 20' container and approx 2/3 of that for a half container.

Well, as we sold up EVERY peice of furniture when we moved from Scotland, the only "stuff" in storage is personal bits and peices, books, winter clothes etc etc.

Are there any alternatives to shipping co's... I wondered if Air Freight or something might be more relevant to this level of shipping and if anyone out there had used such a service.

Cheers

I emailed these guys today and got a price back within 2 hrs which I thought was good.... also the price seemed good too - 14 tea chest size boxes shipped door to door UK to NZ, seafrieght, £550 excl insurance to be arranged seperately...

I think that the going rate for "groupage" where they put your stuff in a container with other consignments is £50 per cubic metre.

Hi Moorf,

You can also get ""air van's" which are large air freight boxes. I know crown relocations do these. They are based in Tamworth Staffs and have a big presence in NZ.
