| I just wondered how many people using this forum have actually applied for residency or submitted an EOI yet, how many are at the planning stage and how many are just considering emigration! |

Am looking at submitting one but at the moment it appears its almost impossible for me to make even a 100 points :( (even though I'm 28 and in IT - the downside to having worked all my life and not having any degree)
My only hope (I think) is to go via the Work to Residence policy but at the moment it appears impossible to find a job without having a work visa. |

Hi Karl,
The time scales in the poll are on the short side for me. |

Hi Karl
I have submitted my EOI already. and have confirmed it has been received in Wellington. Some confusion/uncertainty still around about whethe to send to Wellington or London abounds on the various forums.
A girl in Auckland heard on 10 Jan (yesterday) that she has been picked from pool and to submit for residency. Have asked her how many points she had claimed on EOI and if she knew if initially picking the NZ people first before those overseas??
Will let you know if I find out anything.
But it appears that NZIS have already started picking out applicants; many folk thought it would be end Jan.
Cheers

...before we get too excited I think there was a mis-understanding and that she has only been confirmed as in the pool, not actually drawn from it.. |

Hi
Have just read the latest from the Auckland lady - when she actually explains what she has been told, it really sounds as if all that it is is that she has enough points (over 100) to go into pool.
So it looks like we still have a week or two to wait!

| Yes, NZIS have not yet started dipping into the pool, they'll probably be doing that late January (still have to get the points scoring and ranking software sorted I think) |

From the way things are going, we might file our EOI when the online form becomes available. As NZIS indicates it should be available by March. Wether we do get or not get a JO.. we might consider filing by then... |

Hi Karl and other forum members
I have posted my EOI yesterday to the Wellington office from CHCH.
I shall post the outcome in this forum, so that people are aware of the time frames from the time of posting the application to the acknowledgement letter, etc to final selection.
My work experience and qualifications are in the field of Telecommunications, so have also given myself points for experience in a future growth industry and also a cluster.
This was a grey area for me as the categories were too limited and telecommunications is not stated. I believe, Information Communications Technology refers to purely IT and computer hardware and software design.
I was advised to give myself points as I see the best fit, and NZIS will remove them if inappropriate.
The worse case is not giving yourself points where you would have otherwise scored, as NZIS will not likely add points for you if you had not stated them in your EOI
So guys wish me luck.
Cheers
