Hi Abdul,
It's good to know that you went for it. If I may ask, how many points do you have? I do have 110pts but not confident enough to file an EOI.
Good luck! |

Hi Jenkins
My total tally was 180 points.
However, the case officer might decide to shave off some of the bonus points that I have claimed for the work experience in a future growth area and identified cluster.
My advise is that you submit with the points that you have.
I am assuming that the quality of the EOIs lodged will also be a deciding factor when they select the points threshold to pick from the pool.
As an example, if all EOIs submitted have been always greater than the 150 points, then it is likely that the threshold decided will be skewed on the higher side.
So all the reason why more people should apply, even if it means that the total individual score was just over 100 points
Good luck and by all means go for it.
regards
Abdul |

Hi Arlevian,
If all goes to plan the on-line EOI form should be available from end of January or Early February to coincide with the change of fee structure which occurs on January 31st. |

Just a quick thank you to everyone who took part in the poll/discussion on this thread.
I originally started this thread to get a snap shot of what stage in the emmigration process various people were in the process.
It was also a good opportunity to check out and use the Poll facility on the site which is not much used!!!
I believe the poll is now closed as I only set it up to run for 14 days so if you have tried to vote and can't this imay be the reason.
I'm not sure if this will now be discarded from the site!....One for you JCM/ENZ.
Since we now have over 200 members on the site it might be worth running similar polls to get and idea of points allocations and timescales for approvals since everything should start moving at the end of the month.
Hopefully it will attract more than 10 votes next time! I know that not eveyone wants to divulge such information but a lot can be learned from from such polls and it's nice to know where you fit in the scheme of things!
Once again thanks to everyone.....and good luck! |

Hi Karl, the poll won't be discarded, people just won't be able to vote in it after 14 days, which is quite soon. If you want to change how long the poll will last, or add other options, I think you should be able to do this by editing the very first post in the thread. If it won't allow you to do this, and you want to make any changes, I think I can make them for you using my MODERATOR POWER. |

Hi guys
I enquired from NZIS if they have received my EOI by post.
I was told that they would not send anything in writing, until it has been either been selected or rejected from entering the pool.
(I was used to a fees receipt by post with a stamp that states " Your case officer will be allocated and application decided with xxx weeks. For further information contact 0508 55 88 55" ) This is for people who use the drop box facility at the CHCH office.
However if I do make a telephone call next week, they will let me know if they had received the EOI papers.
This would mean that overseas applicants will have to wait in limbo, to find out the status of their application, as they will be unable to call the freephone telephone line 0508 55 88 55 that is for enquiries within NZ, .
My submission was in paper form so another indication for me will be when the cheque for NZ$ 315 clears for NZIS.
I wonder if the acknowledgement from NZIS is more streamlined for online EOI applicants? I have not read the dossier on this, now available on the web site, but I guess time will tell, as more people submit their applications online.
regards

Hi Abdul,
Interesting what you said about no acknowledgement for the EOI. I rang up immigration myself a couple of days ago to check they'd received it, and I think the lady did mention about a letter saying "oh, they mustn't have sent it yet."
Will let you know if I hear anything.
Evelynne.
PS, for the record, I'm in Wellington on a work permit with a permanent job. |

Hi Evelynne
Thanks for the info
I found it rather puzzling when they said that no acknowledgment will be sent until it hits the pool
Do let me know how things develop.

Hi Evelynn
Did call NZIS and was told that they have received my EOI and they are in the process of transferring the data that I had supplied and a letter of acknowledgement will be sent.
The first selection from the pool will be made during the 1st week of Feb, so fingers crossed - hope that we get picked.
regards

Dear Abdul
Can I but in? I, too, am awaiting some progress on my EOI - sent in from UK 19 Dec and cheque cashed 5 Jan, also phone confirmation that it has been received. You mention first wek of Feb as the "draw" time - did you get this from NZIS??
Cheers
