|

It will be in Christchurch, but all are welcome if you want to come for the weekend down (or up) to here
Saturday 9th october...as in 9th of the 10th...easy to remember (or at least it was..see the post below, so have changed the date to the 13th of November...edited by nic)
BBQ at a great park on Mervyn Drive Avondale.
There is a free tennis court (I will bring a zillion rackets and balls) a great play ground for the wee ones, a large soccer field so we can have a soccer (football) or cricket match...kiwi's verses foriegners...I will ask the neighbours to join us!
A basket ball court, and TOILETS!! whoa! what more could you ask for?
I will put the call out nearer the time, but mark it in your diary/calenders now so you dont get booked up, and cant make it.
Everyone brings their own meat to cook and eat, and a salad and a cake to share. Plus your own cutlery and plates unless you just want bread and a sausage...easy (bring the bread and snag)
I will bring the tomato sauce/ketchup and drinking cups. You guys bring your own prefered beverage though. (I just drink 7 up..and you may not all want that!!)
We might do this first instead of the dessert night at strawberry fare, as kids can get a bit scratchy in restaurants..with people they dont know.(so can parents)
This way they can run wild , and we adults can sit/play/compete to our hearts content.
what do you say?
You in?
Nicky

Absolutely!! We can all sing to him, and he can blow out candles (it is hubbies 37th on the 4th nov...they can fight over who blows them out first!)
You better come to chch after all this, cos I know you are undecided...well now you are decided...tell the man! chch it is (at least on the 13th of Nov)
Hope all the rest of you can come too...it is show weekend in canterbury that weekend. Typically bad weather...but not this year huh? means we get Friday off.....so a great chance for all those living out of town to come and stay in town for the weekend....we have a tent...large back yard....

Of course you can come Tara!!
EVERYONE can come. We might do 2 for those arriving earlier...NOV is such a long way away....for those who are here by Aug/Sept...email me on my nicmills addy and if you want to get together before then (to talk about Sesame!!!) ..and we can all meet up..even if it is just at my house for a 'disco' (yes we are 20 yrs behind, so you better bring leg warmers...as I have mine!) We could have a mid winter Christmas as Christmas for you lot this year will do your head in, in the summer!! we can have an earlier one..(as I am married to a pom and lived there for 10 yrs, we usually have one about July just BECAUSE!!!...we can wait though if you would like to join us...Sept is still cold)

Glad you got it, throwing myself around a bit for this one!!
It is going to be awesome...start a tradition, of a show weekend picnic...what do you say!?
We all get Friday off here in Canterbury...to go to the show (agricultural one) but really it is a day off work.
Auckland have their day later.
I might hire a bouncy castle for the kids..will look into the cost, seeing I have the most kids, it is the least I can do!!!
WICKED!!

As show weekend is the only time in chch hotels/motels are booked out, if you are coming to the hugest party ever....best to book something soon (even if you do cancel..at least you had a bed!) and then you dont have to worry nearer the time...when all that is left..is my garage!
Hope all those who are in chch and will be by the 13th nov can make it, and those who can drive up/down can also come for the day...it will be great to get to know each other out of cyber land.
Just a note about Tara..havent heard from her since she arrived Saturday...but the weather has been awesome since she got here...18 today...she must wonder what we are all on about..cold damp freezin houses! she must think we are all mad!!!
wait till a southerly....ha ha
